J K Rowling didn't write Harry Potter in the Livraria Lello that loads of people queue for hours to go inside! Although she did drink coffee there. But it's a nice bookshop with an impressive staircase (https://www.localporto.com/bookstore-world-p).

Porto is lovely, the atmosphere is great, people everywhere, stores, restaurants, good food (pastries to die for), so many options, the old city is charming with its attractions, very walkable, great access to public transportation and highways.

We visited in December and the weather was great - we found it warm by day but cool in the evening. Beautiful down by the river - plenty of places to eat and drink. Over the river and various port warehouses to visit which we found good value.

Loved Porto, so much to do and see, also liked Gaia across the river. We did a day wine tour to Douro Valley which was beautiful and would defintely recommend. Lots of port wineries to choose from. City very walkable. Great short break!

Porto is amazing little city with lots of places to eat & drink. Nice to walk about or just hangout by the river & enjoy the ambiance! Highly recommend a guided walking tour! Take boat out on the water!! Evening rides are beautiful!

Just be in shape to walk the hills. If you want to go over to Gaia going down is great, coming back very difficult. You can get a Tuk Tuk for 20 euros to take you back but that is a very tough ride as well you need to hold on!

Great city, although there seemed to be construction/renovation going on everywhere. I'd recommend a river cruise and a long walk along the ocean. Hop-on/hop-off bus was not very interesting. Metro was very convenient/economical.

The decore was lovely and the hotel was so clean. breakfast was delicious- simple but more than enough options.
