"What used to feel like a relaxing, family-friendly destination now feels more like a crowded convention center. From the moment we arrived, it felt like guests were more of a nuisance than welcomed visitors. The atmosphere was chaotic, staff seemed overwhelmed, and there was very little of the warm, accommodating experience we remembered from previous stays. One of the biggest frustrations was parking. Even valet parking — which we paid extra for expecting convenience — became a constant fight. It felt like regular guests were completely overlooked in favor of the large convention groups and bigger companies coming in. Multiple times we struggled just to access parking while conference attendees seemed to take priority for everything. What made the experience even more frustrating was the constant introduction of random “new rules” throughout our stay. Policies seemed to change daily with little communication or consistency, making it difficult to relax or enjoy ourselves. It honestly felt like we were walking on eggshells the entire time, worried we were unknowingly breaking some new restriction. The saddest part was that our kids genuinely felt unwelcome there. What used to feel like a place families could comfortably enjoy together now felt cold and inconvenient toward children and family guests. Instead of feeling relaxed and excited, our family constantly felt like we were in the way. For the price and reputation, the experience was incredibly disappointing. "

"Walking in to this unit we felt the beachy vibe and comforts of home. It is very tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies for cooking and eating in. The owner provided a binder with helpful information about the resort and their Hilton Head Island recommendations. The owner is very responsive when messaging. The location is perfect, with a view of the ocean that is just a short walk down the boardwalk away. We definitely recommend this unit and hope to be back again."

"7 Periwinkle is such a delight! My husband and I made a last minute decision to spend a few days in Hilton Head and I’m so glad we found this wonderful property!The interior of the house has an adorable, cozy beach vibe that is super comfortable and inviting. The bathrooms all seem to have been renovated, so cleaning up after a beach day is enjoyable in these crisp clean bathrooms.The kitchen is well appointed with all the items you would need to bake, fry, broil, etc. … even a crockpot! We dined out each night, but imagined a big family preparing wonderful meals while gathering here.The outdoor area provides its own living area under the house, complete with a fun chair swing for watching the pool or reading a book, an outdoor sofa and chairs with a large outdoor tv. There’s a big table for outdoor dining under “party lights”. The pool was refreshing with it’s sunbathing shelf and it was partly shaded by the prettiest tree. We didn’t get around to using the firepit but next time we will:)The beach access is super easy, with Folly Field beach just steps away. The hosts are extremely attentive, just a message away. There was a slight issue with the pool filter, which they managed to resolve in about an hour. Super impressed!We’ll be returning with our adult children soon:)"

" This wonderful home was the perfect place for our family of 4 (plus 2 medium dogs) to spread out, relax & escape the snow at home. The listing is completely accurate from the layout & description, to items included. An open-concept layout meant a large, inclusive living space for us to hang out while doing different things (ie. kids relaxed on the huge sectional,while my hubby cooked & I was at the kitchen table. But the master was on opposite ends of the house from the 3 spacious guest rooms. The master was large & bright, had a comfy king bed & nice ensuite. All the rooms had nice-sized smart TV’s. The living/family room had the largest TV-great for family movie nights-important b/c we had a rainy first 2 days. Super comfy sectional couch had room for all of us & space to spare. The home was all hardwood-SO important for pet-friendly places & beach houses! It made the daily sweep so easy. The outdoor space here was wonderful! The yard was big, fenced private. The pool was huge & clean, with sun shelf, loungers & patio, dining table & umbrella, bar/firetable. All so spacious! There were outdoor speakers to stream your music & a shed with all the pool & beach “stuff” you could need. There’s also a bbq & starter kit of sundries is given.There was a stacked washer & dryer tucked in the hallway bathroom! Jon was very responsive to our few questions. The gorgeous beach was about a 6-7 min walk straight down Folly Field Rd, or a 4-min bike ride. Loved it! 12/10!"
