"Really lovely place with a great pool that really anchors the entire resort. Our room was clean and comfortable though there was a weird beeping sound that was almost constant in our building through out our trip and there were at least 3 brief power outages during our visit. "

"Our stay at Pavones Point was perfect! The location is right at the top point of Pavones surf break. Walk right across the road and paddle out…or walk a little down to the right for a bit less intense wave. The condo was clean and spacious…had everything we needed. Clean towels, comfortable beds, coffee maker, toaster, blender. No salt or pepper and no trays if you plan on making bacon or roasting anything. And no full length mirrors but the location makes up for that!"

"Our stay at Lapa Rios was unforgettable from the moment we arrived. Staff were waiting for us as we got off the ferry in Puerto Jiménez, and after a scenic drive to the lodge, we were welcomed with tropical drinks and warm, personal greetings. The attention to detail and level of service throughout our stay were exceptional. We stayed in the Matapalo Suite, which was private, luxurious, and exactly as pictured online. Set deep in the rainforest with panoramic views of the ocean and jungle, it was an incredible place to relax—and the A/C was a lifesaver during the hot, humid rainy season. We often saw monkeys playing right outside our suite, and woke each morning to the calls of howler monkeys. Dining was another highlight. The food was fresh, varied, and well-prepared, and the staff worked hard to accommodate dietary needs—including gluten-free options for one of our group. We also went on several guided hikes led by fantastic naturalists who helped us spot wildlife and made the treks fun and informative, even for our 80-year-old family member. What really sets Lapa Rios apart is the level of care from the entire team. From organizing personalized activities to making sure we were comfortably checked in for our return flight, every detail was handled with professionalism and warmth. Lapa Rios is the perfect mix of eco-adventure and luxury, and we can’t recommend it highly enough."

"Our experience in this amazing house in this special place in Pavones exceeded the expectations of all 8 friends who were there. We enjoyed the contact with nature, the pool that is always very well looked after, the ice bath and the table tennis court, in addition to the other comforts it offers. "This house has everything you need and host keeps it very clean. I was so impressed of how close to the beach it is and so sound it by nature; the sound of waves from the ocean was definitely a plus. When we first arrived the first thing we saw was two happy and cute monkeys on the very top of the matapalo tree. It made us take some time to start admiring the beauty of that place. I didn’t have any issues. John and Oscar were always very reachable for questions or advice. I would definitely go back to that “stress reducing” place where you can only breathe pure and clean air. "

The house is clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience.Joel was a fantastic host, even going out of his way to pick up a few items for us from Puerto Jiménez—so appreciated! After a day of exploring, the pool was perfect for a refreshing dip, and the Green Egg BBQ made grilling easy since town is a bit of a trek.The nearby Playa Pan Dulce was a highlight, where we swam daily while watching monkeys swing through the trees. We also spotted Agoutis, Macaws, and even an anteater!Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a wild, beautiful, and peaceful getaway. Thanks, Joel!"
