"I was happily surprised by the hotel. Wasn’t expecting much. Staff at checking were helpful, could have been more clear about charges (breakfast and parking). We were a big group and had a great time. Lit from the restaurant and bar was very nice and helpful!! Breakfast was good"

"I was looking for a place to stay overnight for a group of 3: at ~£27 each, this hotel was completely acceptable. LOCATION Less than 10 minutes to walk to Central station (and therefore the city centre), so that was all good. ROOM Basic yet spacious. The beds were comfortable enough. FACILITIES The ensuite was up to standard- same can be said for the shower. We had a telly and basic tea/coffee making facilities. FINAL COMMENTS Note to management: don’t spam people for reviews. "

"The hotel was a really good we were pleased with our choice particularly with other high ranking hotels in the mix! The staff were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful and the package we got made our stay extra special for our first wedding anniversary! The bar was nice and relaxed and a great range of drinks! We stayed breakfast but chose to have breakfast just one of the mornings initially so we could experience a breakfast in the centre of Cardiff. The breakfast was average and although we ordered our coffees none arrived - this was probably due to how busy it was. The breakfast we had the following day in Cardiff, although slightly more expensive, was delicious, fresh and promptly given. The location of the hotel was excellent! The pillows could be slightly more firm and it was noisy at times in the night due to other guests. Other than these minor things, we had a great time! Thank you 😊 "

"The room was clean and the toiletries were easily accessible and lovely to use. There was a good choice for breakfast. Staff were very friendly but slow to clear the used plates and cutlery. The bar was very busy and quite noisy but good choice of beverages "

"The hotel was impossible to find. There was no signage, blacked out windows and the neighbouring building had white washed windows that looked closed up. On the other side of the entrance had gates closed up with a padlock and chain with a sign saying academy. It really looked like a disused building! We drove around trying to find a car park that doesn’t exist, despite the email the day before our stay giving us parking instructions. We had to pay £30 parking at a nearby car park and walk. We booked a room with a view but the windows had a film blocking out any view. There was no soap in the room! No kettle apart from a drink station down in the lobby, which had cold water in the urn and no cups. Later in the evening a different member of staff told us of a free parking elsewhere but when we asked when we checked in, they didn’t help us. No bedside tables, very basic. We booked a twin but had to separate the beds ourselves.The mattress was full of craters where there were large dips. Booked a deluxe room but it seems that they are all just standard which we paid extra for. Not like the photos. Room was hot, unable to open windows. Only 1 pillow each and no spares. Key cards kept failing to work even though a conscious effort was made to keep it away from our phones. Seemed to have some recent decor updates but very basic and plain. Doors are very loud and bang shut so very hard to get any sleep. Great location for the arena but otherwise needs a lot of sorting Except refund!"

"Staff was wonderful. The hotel is dated and tired. The floors needed new carpet and regrouping in our room. Housekeeping was just meh. Food was great. Location is great and I did like the apartment feel of home. The pool/spa/gym is outstanding."

"Ideal central location although no city view, despite booked. Room very clean and plenty of room. Comfortable beds. Dressing gowns handy in bathroom. Great selection of teas and coffee provided 😊. Breakfast service and selection of food excellent."
