"Pros: location, close bay/beach access, spacious garden room, onsite restaurant, staff was nice. Cons: poor cleaning of facility. The pool area was not cleaned up throughout the day. Walked in to see lots of trash (old food plates, glasses, cans, all over). Over flow of dirty towels. I arrived at pool at 3pm and no staff available to take drink orders or clean mess. I actually saw a hotel guest cleaning up because she said the mess was grossing her out. Facility and rooms very outdated. Limited and outdated charging ports for electronics."

Beach Haven - Near Pacific Beach Park

"Pros - This has always been a solid choice for decently priced rooms, especially with a kitchenette. The beach is right down the block, and the location is near the main part of Pacific Beach with all the shops and restaurants. The manager they have temporarily assisting the property was super kind and helpful. Cons this trip - we stayed in two different rooms for the 4 nights we were there. The first room (103) had scalding hot water in all the facets and bath. There was a slice of cooler water if you were really careful how you turned the bath/shower facet, but the kitchen burned me, and there was no cool water to be found. In the second room (107) the opposite was true, and we couldn't get any warm water. Thankfully it's summer because the cold showers were definitely unpleasant (even in the summer). Also, both the towel holder fixtures in the second room's bathroom came right off the wall. The screws are all rusted out so there was no getting them back on. Overall I would recommend this property, however just keep in mind that the new outside appearance hasn't necessarily translated into maintenance in the rooms. However, the pool is well maintained and that is a huge plus. Plus the area is gated so no random people getting in."
