"A Grand Old Lady in beautiful grounds. Scrupulously clean. Staff were kind considerate and very helpful. Our accessible room in the cottages was a 2 minute walk from the main hotel up a long and very steep incline, but you can drive to the front of the hotel if you have limited mobility. There is a reserved parking space right outside the cottages which is very useful. Room was very spacious with easy access up a ramp into the cottage for a permanent wheelchair user. Good accessible wetroom with a roll under sink and a shower chair - just to note for para/tetra guests this is not usable if you cannot easily transfer or have no mobility as the arms are not removable. There is a small kitchenette that includes a microwave and fridge plus a kettle and coffee machine. Coffee pods, teabags and milks were plentiful. Pool is great and was lovely and clean, but here is no hoist for disabled guests. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet. There is no room service but the staff are very happy to help you with a takeaway breakfast. This is delightful to eat on the cottage patio. The restaurant was a little disappointing, we expected something a bit more upmarket for the style of the hotel. No table service, you have to order all food and drinks from the bar and the menu is limited basic fayre. Though the menu changes daily. Not enough selection for drinks at the bar. Only nonalcoholic choices were 1 lager and 1 stout. They had nonalcoholic wine on the menu, but it wasn't available."

"Check in was simple. As there is no reception, we received a notification of what room we were in and the code to the keybox containing the room keys. Breakfast was a simple selection on the booking form in the keybox. Breakfast was excellent and the staff we did have contact with were also excellent. Parking was tight but acceptable. Overall couldn't fault. Thank you."

"The staff from the beginning were always very friendly and helpful and provided very useful tips which improved our holiday experience. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The coffee provided in the room and at breakfast was excellent. The breakfast choices were very good and the quality of the breakfast and cakes were excellent. I looked forward each morning to it. The location was ideal as it is on a quiet road but very near the train station and main shops etc."

"This is a fantastic house if you are looking to celebrate with your family or friends. We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday with lots of our family. It was perfect for us. There was plenty of room with everyone. The two kitchens were a real bonus and well equipped, making it easy to cater for our large group. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind in the evening. The cinema room was a big hit with our children and get well used! The location was excellent being close to the town and train station. The buses are regular and we enjoyed a trip to Bowness and Ambleside. Orrest Head walk was right across the road from the house which was ideal for a lovely walk. The communication from the owner before we arrived was excellent throughout, and made everything easy for us to get settled in. We felt well informed and knew exactly what to expect. We arrived early after a long journey and were kindly allowed to park outside the house, which was really helpful. We were welcomed by Liz the manager and her team. I would highly recommend this holiday home for a large group of people. We would gladly stay here again. There was few tears from our younger members, they wanted to stay forever"

"My family and I had a wonderful stay at Oakland West for my 60th Birthday. There were 15 of us ranging from 12 weeks to 60. The house was big enough for us to spread out. We especially loved the kitchen/diner and the large lounge. Loved that there were 2 fridge/freezers and 2 dishwashers. We were also impressed with the size of the garden and the ample car park (including the electric charger)."

"Our stay at Cedar Manor was excellent ,the room was fabulous with everything we could need for a first class stay. The view from the windows was stunning the room was cleaned every day by lovely friendly staff, there was a great choice of items to choose from the breakfast.menu, these were served every morning by Jonathan & Caroline the owners. The hotel is ideally situated with bus stops outside that take you to lots of the main places. We highly recommend this hotel and will be returning again soon."
