"NO TATTOOS. Is the first sign you see when checking in. Perhaps if you have a small discrete tattoo, they will still permit you to use their hot-baths on site. Ideal for couples, seniors, less so for families with children. The beds were quite hard. The in-room food service was very good, as was the breakfast buffet. Both indoor and outdoor onsen was very nice, with the outdoor one having a nice view of Gifu Castle. "

"We drove to the ryokan from Nagoya Centrair and had no problems finding it. Parking was free and it was conveniently located right next to the ropeway (which was great!). Food was delicious and the onsen was great too. The only negative feedback I have is that certain parts of the room was dusty and perhaps the room needs to be cleaned more. Otherwise, it was an very pleasant overall stay."

"Traditional ryokan with futons and a sunken dining area, where you have to remove your shoes once you enter the ryokan (much like what you do when you visit any home in the far east). "Very tradition Ryokan (Japanese Hotspring hotel) with all the warm welcoming and attentive service you could ask for. The Ryokan only has few rooms So that they could serve the guests with the best quality! The hot spring is not as big as expect but still with very good quality. "We loved our time in Gifu! The ryokan was in a lovely quiet part of Gifu surrounded front and back by parks. The staff spoke a little English and we even less Japanese but it didn’t matter- they were so helpful and kind and so friendly -they even did our laundry and drove us to the train station as part of the service!!! There is an onsen - on the top floor. Everything very clean and old world traditional. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. "
