Virginia Union University (VUU) is a historically black university located in Richmond, Virginia, United States. It took its present name in 1899 upon the merger of two older schools, Richmond Theological Institute and Wayland Seminary, each founded after the end of American Civil War by the American Baptist Home Mission Society. Better than chains

"What a lovely downtown small hotel! Just what we were looking for. The balcony on the street was great- wonderful place to sit outside and watch the city go by. Also the restaurant was excellent- we had the best meal there. That is a little jewel connected to the hotel. Take advantage of it if you stay there."
