"We had a lovely two night stay over Easter weekend. Parked easily, checked in a bit earlier. Lovely spotless room. Expected a bigger room for a superior room and would have loved a bath. However the shower was good with nice toiletries. Bed a bit too small and lumpy for me. Everything you could need in the room including hairdryer, iron, coffee machine etc. Friendly note left by housekeeping. Bar good for an afternoon drink. Breakfast WONDERFUL!! Loved the choices. Dinner also WONDERFUL. Pricey wine unfortunately. A short 10 minute walk into town with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Would stay again. "

"Old properties always have the issue of requiring lots of money to be spent on them to be brought into the 21st Century and this property is no different, but don't get me wrong - it's fine without being particularly special. We had a very spacious but dated room and bathroom- with a TV that kept dropping its signal, bath in the middle of the bedroom and a metal shower tray along with my pet hate of no power sockets on the bedside locker. We had dinner one evening on the hotel: I selected the Sole (which was Market Fish of the Day). No prices on this and maybe my fault for not double checking but equally i think the waiter should have double checked with me!! (It cost me a whopping £47.50- veg / potatoes were all extra)! This left a different sort of sour taste! All in all - the hotel is fine but could be so much better. Maybe a few Draft options in the bar would also be nice!"

"The Stables is a stylishly designed little Cottage in the Heart of Tunbridge Wells, a convenient 10 minute walk from Tunbridge Wells Station (direct Train from London Bridge) and close to all the shops. There's so much to see and do in the area, with the beautiful Kent countryside on your doorstep (Knole Castle with roaming Fallow Deer in the grounds - a short 20 minute train ride to Sevenoaks and then bus or taxi).This is our second visit to stay at The Stables. We went for a roam around all the quaint little Artisan Shops in the Pantiles and beyond, along the High Street, there's so much original craftwork to peruse, and Art Galleries to pop into. The shopping is extensive, to the North of the High Street, past Tunbridge Wells train station, there's further boutiques and familiar High Street brands, and around this area there's the beautiful Calverley Grounds, it's really pretty in Winter and a very welcoming Italian Restaurant...Stelle D'Italia, which my husband and I very much enjoyed. Upon checking out of The Stables, we went to a lovely little Cafe with the most relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, The Lodge, just as you turn right off the bottom of Frog Lane, the breakfast choice is extensive and our selection of The Lodge Breakfast was very nice indeed.Claire, the Host, is really lovely and so helpful with anything that you need. Thank you so much Claire, and Jane, for all your efforts during our stay.... We will definitely plan to come back."
