"This is not a Hotel, this is basically an AirB&B with escalated prices for a room with shared bathroom and shared also with owner. The owner was nice enough but we paid £97 for night (not worth it) compared to £65 at Ibis hotel in Liverpool (Albert Docks) - air conditioning, own bathroom and much more comfort. This ‘Hotels.com’ need to vet what people are offering. I am actually quite offended by what I was offered and will now use other sites to book ACTUAL hotels! "

"EXcellent,5 star hotel come pub and restaurant.Thoroughly clean throughout,excellent choice of real ales, excellent varied menu,ultra clean super king bedroom,overlooking the Dee marshes,and nice views over to Wales!Our favourite place to stay locally,just an hour travel from Merseyside area.a.Well be back soon!"

Room was lovely however in the current heat would have appreciated air conditioning or a fan to cool the room down. Would also have appreciated the room to have a safe available. "Very welcoming staff.Nice large clean room with wonderful views.Excellent breakfast served by the most delightful waitress.Parking was so easy.Right outside the front door. Check your staff rosta for July 8th and you will know who the lovely waitress is.We had a good breakfast with a table next to the window so we could enjoy the fountain.I hope to go again."

"Great place to stay for a night or two at most - there's a lack of storage for longer stays (no clothes hangers, tiny bedside tables, very little space for toiletries in bathroom). Sadly let down by the handwash bottle being completely empty on our arrival, and the floor in dire need of a mop - it looked clean to the eye but a few steps and our socks/feet were filthy! Overall a lovely little place to spend a night, and very easy self-check-in/out."

"Clean and tidy property. Well suited to a large gathering (stag in our case). Easy to locate and useful to have cheap public carpark next door. Train station a short walk away with regular trains into Chester. Appreciate the en-suites in each room. We enjoyed our stay!"

"Great location and easy to find, plenty of parking space. Check-in quick and easy. Room on second floor easy to get to. Room basic but it has everything so no complaint. Breakfast absolutely lovely and so much choice. Also had an evening meal which was brilliant and totally reasonable price. All the staff were superb and so helpful and polite. Bar was cracking and we stayed up to watch the England game, thank you for the snacks and late night service. Hopefully see you next year."

"The staff at check in and throughout our stay we're really friendly and helpful, we felt at ease straight away The room was a good size, recently refurbished and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, both hot and cold options, and the dining area was well spaced out. Would definitely return to this hotel if we were in the area again 😊"
