Yes, some parts of Bali are overrun with tourists and rubbish. However, we’ve been here for a couple of weeks now and we’ve seen many beach clean ups being organized, plus single-use plastic is restricted, so yay to this Bali!

Whenever I hear people complaining because Bali is too touristy, I would like to remind them that it’s a pretty big island, and visiting ‘Western hotspots’ is not compulsory! You can always find places with not many other people around, and in some cases you don’t even need to travel far. This is Seseh Beach, less than 15 minutes away from Canggu by scooter!

"Never again. It stated on our reservation, daily housekeeping. When we asked about new towels and cleaning our room, they were horrified. So the room never got cleaned and we had to use the same towels the whole time there. I might add, if you want a good night sleep then this place isn’t for you. The loud music next door every night is atrocious."

"The place was beautiful! I felt very safe walking around at night, and there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The pool was awesome, every night of our stay we had a drink with our feet in the pool. It was lovely!"

"Our room was lovley, always clean and the little touches like the welcome snacks and notes from our cleaners made it that much better. "Super hotel with amazing beach pool and great location & good rooms for family with kids with double bed etc. Nice center stage fun in the evening and lively atmosphere. But pls be away from the 15 mins free photo session & free welcome drink as both not worth at all.. Photo session is free with only 1 photo print but no soft copies at all else all highly chargeable and welcome drink is only canned juice / cold drink served that too without any fizz left !! "
