There are limited accom options in Mt Cook and this one is good value for money, clean and comfortable. If you’re staying more than a night there are kitchen facilities. The location is spectacular and most of the rooms have views of the mountains. I would definitely stay here again

Great location for a two night stay. Easy checkin, the upstairs large communal area fantastic. Is very big and has everything you need to cook. Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful

The Aoraki Alpine Lodge was a pleasant place to spend a few days. I arrived in the later afternoon and was greeted by the kind staff and immediately felt welcome. They even have a mini store with everything from eggs to milk to deodorant and toothpaste so if you forget anything or want to make food, they have a small selection for purchase. My room was at the end of the hall and the views of the mountains were unreal. The room had the essentials and just down the hall was a large kitchen with 3 stoves and 3 sinks, a plethora of cooking utensils and all that one could need when working in the kitchen. There was a nice dining area and couches where you could see the mountains without any obstructions. The rooms were not 100% soundproof but I had no trouble sleeping at night and the noise levels were decently quiet. The shower was just separated by a curtain next to the toilet but it was nice pressure and got warm very fast. Overall, it was well worth the money, with trails a walkable distance, as well as restaurants, cafes, and bars at the nearby hotel, there was no lack.

Pros: Excellent location; terrific view of the mountains; cooking/dining /common room very good with great views; staff pleasant and helpful. Cons: Small, shoebox rooms - a great disappointment for the price. Poor soundproofing - I could hear people in the next room talking during the night. Would I recommend it? Not really.

Beautiful location & deck with view for dining

Beautiful location. Front desk staff super helpful and friendly, especially Hafizah. Clean community kitchen stocked with dushes, pots, pans and cleaning supplies, BBQ grill, refrigerator space and small amount of free supplies like milk. Had french press or plunger for coffee so bring coffee grinds. So close to hikes. Great value for price.

Asked front desk for laundry coins, they us the right amount of money but wrong type of coins. Front desk is only open for a short time so we couldn’t ask again when we tried doing laundry in the evening. We were only able to wash clothes and not dry them. Room had no hand towel, just washcloths. Only a small packet of shampoo, no conditioner or body wash. Just a single bar of soap to use for both washing hands and showering. Property details says there is a restaurant but this is not true. There is a shared kitchen for guests to make their own food.
