The Aoraki Alpine Lodge was a pleasant place to spend a few days. I arrived in the later afternoon and was greeted by the kind staff and immediately felt welcome. They even have a mini store with everything from eggs to milk to deodorant and toothpaste so if you forget anything or want to make food, they have a small selection for purchase.
My room was at the end of the hall and the views of the mountains were unreal.
The room had the essentials and just down the hall was a large kitchen with 3 stoves and 3 sinks, a plethora of cooking utensils and all that one could need when working in the kitchen.
There was a nice dining area and couches where you could see the mountains without any obstructions.
The rooms were not 100% soundproof but I had no trouble sleeping at night and the noise levels were decently quiet.
The shower was just separated by a curtain next to the toilet but it was nice pressure and got warm very fast.
Overall, it was well worth the money, with trails a walkable distance, as well as restaurants, cafes, and bars at the nearby hotel, there was no lack.
