"We had a great experience at the Savoy, its beautiful and staff was very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, its location is perfect, easy to explore surrounding attractions. Breakfast was excellent, with great variety. Staff were super good. Will definitely recommend it highly."

"I can’t rave enough about this hotel!! Parking included, fantastic and knowledgeable staff, unbelievable brunch/breakfast and the room was just outstanding. Reception was so patient with all my questions. Female staff really spent time with me and gave me the best advice. I really wish I remembered her name but she is exceptionally good at her role. I do wish there was a bottle opener in the room instead of having to get it from the front desk but that’s a small suggestion. "

"The breakfast was over the top and enough food to hold you till dinner. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The view from our room superb! "

"Pillows were bad! Bumpy and piling inside and pillow case was broken. Bedsheets are loosely prepared so they all come undone when you get into the bed. Breakfast was average, location was good and walkable. Cleanliness in bathroom could be improved. Staff were quiet nice. "

"Wir haben sehr schöne Tage in der Unterkunft verbracht.Die Lage oberhalb von Funchal ist sehr gut: ruhig und doch Zentrumsnähe (Bushaltestelle ganz in der Nähe). Die Schnellstraße ist ebenfalls schnell zu erreichen.Je besser das Wetter, desto mehr kann man von Dachterrasse, Pool und Liegestühlen profitieren.Die Ausstattung der Wohnung hat uns gut gereicht. Es handelt sich um eine Mezzanine-Wohnung, das Bett ist auf der Empore und nicht in einem separaten Raum.Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit."

"Simple, but clean and comfortable apartment perfect as a base for our stay. Especially appreciated the washing machine and the host even provided a couple of detergent capsules, so we were able to wash our clothes after a muddy hike. Good location, close to the centre of Funchal, but bear in mind there's a steep hill to climb up - though taxies from the centre will cost you about 4 euros. The only issue was not getting the actual address any check-in instructions before our arrival and having to call the host on our late in the evening after we arrived. It took few calls before her daughter got in touch and provided the access information, but from there it was smooth, so overall a good experience."

"Communication with the host was a challenge. I asked for simple things like soap and towels and she responded by saying one bottle of soap was enough for 3 bathrooms and 1 bathroom towel per person was enough for 6 days. The door to the pool was hard to open and the host showed me how to open but made me feel like I should have been able to figure that out. She also asked me if I ever rented a house before which was an insult to me. Overall the host made it difficult to stay the house but we still enjoyed our time in Maderia."
