"I didn’t expect we had to pay additional for the use of the thermal rooms & book sessions. Check in process was a bit long. And having to make reservations for dinner & the shuttles was a bit inconvenient as the location was a bit far from the town/convenience stores. Otherwise breakfast was lovely. Staff friendly. Property was very clean & sophisticated. Made good use of private Onsen. Was a relaxing time."

"Very traditional ryokan, excellent kaiseki dining and a lovely onsen including 4 private onsen options. Property is a little run down and I’m pretty sure that I could smell a stale cigarette smoke in the hallway and the bathroom of our room🤔,but overall a very pleasant stay! Thank you! "

"I loved having a private mineral hot water bathtub on my outside deck- there was a screen to ensure privacy but still a view of the trees and forest. It was very soothing-and very enjoyable. We travelled to Hakone from Tokyo on the Romance train (not really romantic so not sure where the name comes from but is a nice train) and took advantage of the luggage delivery system once in Hakone station to allow us to just start or sight seeing day. Hakone is a beautiful area- wish I had stayed for...
