This was one of our favourite stays in Japan. The staff were super accommodating to me and my dietary restrictions which I appreciated so much! One person in our party left something behind and the hotel staff we super nice and helpful to send the item to them at our next hotel. We will make sure to stay here again our next time in Japan.

It’s a nice hotel but you can see its age. Service is excellent but I get a bunch of messages from the hotel to remind me what not to do which makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

With top notch experience options for dining, massage booking options, and private onsens, it doesn't get much better than this wonderful location. There isn't a spectacular view, but it is decent, and the room, and how they treat you, is astounding. From an awesome lobby and common areas, to a spacious room and incredible experience, this is a place I would love to return to.

Staying at Hakone Airu was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Japan — a truly unique and unforgettable experience! We traveled with our two children (8 years old and 10 months), and both of them loved the private onsen in our room. Being able to enjoy the hot spring as a family, in the comfort and privacy of our space, made it incredibly special. The service was exceptional — every staff member was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The meals were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, adding to the overall experience. The location is quite convenient, not too far from Hakone-Yumoto Station. We chose to walk, and although it's a bit of an uphill climb, it was very manageable and well worth it once we arrived. If you're looking for a serene, luxurious, and family-friendly ryokan experience in Hakone, this is the place. We would return in a heartbeat!

The atmosphere was relaxing and romantic. Upon checking in, staff greeted us with welcome drinks. The room was clean and spacious with the private onsen being the highlight. The amenities, robes, tatami, and floor bedding made it an authentic and comfortable experience. The private dinning experience for dinner and breakfast was luxurious and delicious. Overall, the hotel was quiet and a nice spot to decompress and relax before continuing with the rest of the trip. The only downside is that the property is on a steep hill, so the walk to the hotel was fatiguing but well worth it. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who has the opportunity to visit Hakone!

This ryokan is absolutely beautiful. The staff was very kind and exceeded our expectations in everyway. I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. The view from our personal onsen was beautiful. After a week of walking around tokyo it was the perfect way to relax. The food was great and we loved our personal dinning area. I have no complaints at all. If you are looking to stay in hakone, stay in Hakone Airu.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hakone Airu. From the moment we stepped in we were treated well. They held our luggage for us before we checked in so that we could explore the town. Our rooms were very clean and spacious. The private onsen was amazing and we had an amazing view of the mountains. We felt very relaxed in our rooms. Our stay included both dinners and breakfasts for our two night stay. The dinner was amazing, the first night we had wagyu beef shabu and with the appetizers we were so full. The second night we had crab meat which was also amazing and plentiful. Both breakfasts were great and filling as well. Overall this was probably on the best places I’ve stayed at and would definitely come back again!

We had an amazing stay. It was such a rejuvenating experience! The mat beds were probably the most comfortable sleep we’ve ever gotten and the always hot hot spring tub will be something I dream about forever. Food was amazing, although the portions are almost too much for one meal. We left each meal stuff beyond belief and partially dreaded not being hungry enough to eat the next one haha. Such an amazing stay, we would most definitely come back again!
