Honestly a great stay for one night. They style of sleeping at night is not recommended with anyone with back or leg problems. As you essentially sleep on the floor. The staff is super nice; helpful and very courteous. I think to where it loses a star in the quality of the food. It’s not the best and gives all inclusive Mexico resort quality. Breakfast was good but they limit you to what you get. But the onsen on your room is amazing. Highly recommend for one night

Absolutely stunning ryokan. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a private balcony onsen and view of the mountains. We were fed a lovely dinner (we chose the steak and it was fabulous!) and the meal ended up being multiple courses to our pleasant surprise. Breakfast was also lovely. We booked a massage for later in the evening and it was so relaxing it put me right to sleep! The ryokan was exceptionally relaxing and a perfect getaway for us between the hustle and bustle of the cities. There is a local bus that drops off right in front of Hakone Airu as well in case you don’t want to navigate your luggage up the roads, but it also isn’t a long walk from the train to the hotel either. They do also have a larger public onsen separated by male/female but we didn’t have need for it so I can’t speak to it or the policies surrounding using it. We will definitely be back!

We chose the traditional room and half board(dinner and breakfast included). The hotel is with very nice service and good open-air bath, the view is breathtaking. The half board is highly recommended! Try Japanese traditional food in a private dining room. After we finished the dinner, the night bed is set up for us when we went back the room, how warm that is!

The staff was more than helpful and the rooms were amazing. The best part might have been the food it kept coming and coming we couldn't believe how much food they served us. Very quiet and intimate. Thank you so much.
