"The best thing about this hotel is the owner and his wife. It is a small hotel and they are the only "staff". Their hospitality is amazing. The second best thing is the restaurant. The breakfasts are great and the one dinner we had there was much much better than the meals that we had in restaurants in the town. The rooms were clean and comfortable and there was lots of hot water. There was also cable tv in the rooms (mostly Spanish channels of course). The only thing that was kinda weird...

"We enjoyed a short stay at this home. Its in the perfect location for rural experience of Costa Rica, but close enough to jump over to La Fortunas tourist trap. We watched the parrots (yellow naped and toucans) play and eat every morning with the volcano backdrop. We also got to see a pizote on our ride into La Fortuna. The Butterfly Conservatory is magical and within walking distance. We had a great and inexpensive meal at Ventamita Cafe as we enjoyed the view. We went to La Fortuna for...

"Property is as described. It's dated but well cared for. The caretaker is great. PLEASE note. Last few kilometers of road are not paved...we had 4x4's was fine. Closest supermarket is a 40 minute - hour drive. Beach isn't the best for swimming but totally remote and private. We loved this place. "
