Onyado Nono Kyotoshichijo Natural Hot Springs
8/10 Good
"Very clean, classy and simple. I just wish the pillows and bed were softer."

Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo
8/10 Good
"The location was excellent, just across the JR station. Room was nice, spacious and clean. The only issue was the internet connection was so bad that we can’t use at all. Towels are a little beaten up and old. Changing and upgrading the towels would be nice."

HOTEL ELCIENT KYOTO HACHIJOGUCHI
10/10 Excellent
"Staff were super friendly, helpful and spoke great English, they helped me check in and manage the parking situation seamlessly. The material quality, cleanliness and comfort of the hotel was top-notch. Although I didn't use the public onsen-style bath, I like that they provided clear and visible explanations on the signage and QR code / Wi-Fi about the correct protocols for using it. I would have used it if I had time. The buffet breakfast looked fabulous but was above my budget so I didn't use it, but that's fine. One feedback I would have is about microwaves - As a westerner, a microwave is a staple amenity that I need almost every time I stay at a hotel. This hotel only offered two which is few given the capacity of the hotel, and they were both in the west wing so I had to walk to-and-from the west wing 4th floor (from east wing 6th floor) with my food. also, the microwave was small, old and dirty. This is my only constructive criticism, everything else about the hotel was excellent and I would certainly stay there again."

Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto

Hotel Keihan Kyoto GRANDE

"easy access to train station"

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Hachijoguchi
8/10 Good
"We loved the location of this hotel. Just south of Kyoto Station, which let us explore the region at ease. There were tons of restaurants nearby (close to the hotel, and near the Station). The room was actually quite spacious! (Especially compared the the hotel we had in Tokyo.) The two twin beds, while individually quite small, could be pushed together and make enough room for a family of 4 (two adults, two children under age 7). Amenities were nice (available in the lobby, some available for rent for free). As well, staff were all kind and helpful, particularly the breakfast staff. We were pleased with this hotel! Only a couple of cons. We paid to have breakfast included and while we really liked it the first day, after a 6 night stay it started to get old as none of the food was changed, but we have come to expect this after our trip to Japan. Consider trying the breakfast for a few days but don't depend on it for a long trip. The staff at breakfast was wonderful, however! My biggest complaint is the room did not offer a nice view (facing south, lower floor) but the opposite side seemed to have a glimpse of a nice view featuring buildings, temples an greenery/mountains in the background. We should have asked for a better view but were staying with friends in a nearby room. And finally, the hotel did have more of a corporate/business feel and we would probably want to stay somewhere with more personality and more 'traditional' if staying in Kyoto in the future."

Hotel Gracery Kyoto Sanjo

"Great location, a bit tough to get to, you need to walk, and some of the rooms aren’t upgraded like the pictures but otherwise really comfortable!"
