Very good, helpful staff who were very kind. They helped me out a lot with luggage forwarding. The hotel's location is also the best you can get in Kyoto (assuming you're okay with no view of the river), there is a giant shopping complex right across the station, I bought many things and could carry it super quickly back to the hotel . Everyday we took the train somewhere, for example we got from hotel room to the shinkansen platform for Nagoya in under 10 minutes. I loved the room, spacious and comfortable. My only wish as a westerner was if the hotel had breakfast, that would be perfect, but I know it's not customary in Japan

Great hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Missed the robe though! All of Japan has provided a robe or pajamas. Even budget places. Also found the area to be lacking in fun and stuff to do. Close to the subway station though!
