"Unforgettable. Just try it."

"I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. A note for Americans and Europeans--this is a Japanese business-style hotel. It is small and functional and perfect as such. It is not a big resort hotel. It is not a spacious room for you to spread out in. It is functional and perfect for those who are there to enjoy the place and not the hotel itself. The hotel is wonderful and the staff are extremely nice. They are helpful with recommendations and holding luggage and very accommodating. The beds are a...

"The location of the property is great. It is literally across from the train station. The walk to the bamboo forest, the shops and walking/biking/running trails are all very close. The room was very comfortable and quiet. My 3 star review is strictly based off the board. Knowing what I know know I 100% would not get the half board. This was my fourth city to have stayed in so far in Japan (including other onsens with traditional board) and the food here was by far the worst. We ended up skipping...

"Stayed in the room with a private bath, and its own interior water feature/mineral water stream. Possibly the best room(s - it was more of a suite) I’ve ever stayed in. Clean tatami mats, lovely meal, great private bath - we spent a lot of our visit just sitting next to the small waterfall/stream and reading."

"Our room was clean and spacious. Finding it was a challenge for the local cab driver. The breakfast was just breads but I enjoyed the mugwort rolls! I’d recommend that they add a washer/dryer to some rooms. Also, the sleeping clothes were a little worn. Mine was missing an important button. The staff were friendly but it could be hard to communicate with them over the phone."

"Beautiful property and great location"

"Breakfast ladies were great. If your darker than beige, you may have a different experience than others. They charged me twice the lodging rate, made it difficult to call a taxi, were suspicious and unwelcoming. The room itself had everything you wouls need. Is walkable to the train station about twenty minute walk, the location is near the dam so thats relaxing, theres a public bath that was obviously not for me but for more cherished guests, the grounds are good, the town is cute with lots of...

"The staff is very friendly and hotel is beautiful. the only complaint i have is i ordered Japanese breakfast through expedia."

"Very nice Ryokan! Slightly removed from the core but there are 2 buses that regularly go into town so its not a huge issue. We stayed in the private room on the lower floor with the private zen garden, highly recommend if its available as it was amazing for late night drinks, and the sounds of night and the river that runs beside the ryokan. A must stay for a traditional experience! One Laundry + dryer on site for a small charge (plus you need to buy a detergent packet from the front desk,...

"I loved how authentic the experience felt and looked, curated by such amazing and sweet souls. "

"不論是環境、餐飲、溫泉還是服務細節，「京都御室 花傳抄」都展現了極高水準。這是一次讓人徹底放鬆身心的奢華之旅，極力推薦給想要深入體驗京都精緻日式旅館（Ryokan）溫泉與美食的朋友！"

"This is only sort of kind of the whole property, Kyoto has very strict tax laws and needs to have a front desk and therefore part of the property is that, additionally the upper floors are inhabited, but none of that matters really because of how wonderful the people and the space are."

"Le propriétaire est très sympa l’une de mes meilleurs adresses du Japon. Je recommande plus qu’assez, incontournable. Merci de cet accueil exceptionnel."

"The Front desk and Concierge were amazing and set me up for an amazing Japan Adventure"
