"We arrived early, we have stayed here in the past and have never had a problem with check in, even a little early..So our room wasn’t ready, that was fine, but at 4:00, sitting in the lobby, watching numerous people check in and get their room…I got a little impatient. I was told that our level of room, and the price we paid, we would have to wait. So apparently booking through a 3rd party expect to wait. The hotel is older, but the rooms are spacious and was very clean. The location in the river is great, very walkable to everything. Breakfast one morning in the Ambler, again we have been before..the food is good, but the service was very slow. We sat at the bar for drinks two evenings and the staff was excellent, Michael at the bar was very friendly and sweet. "

"The Menger Hotel is amazing for it's location and colorful history. Everything we wanted to do in San Antonio is within walking distance including the famous river walk.
