The house is in a nice and remote area. It is great to have morning coffee on the back deck and listen to all the peacefulness of nature. Same with looking at the stars at night of the back deck.
The beds are quite comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms are in very good condition. My group very much enjoyed their stay at Peter's place!
Yosemite is an easy drive that can take from 45 minutes to an hour during our stay (late May)!
A lovely clean spacious property and modern too
We had a lovely stay here so peaceful and a relaxing jacuzzi too
Thank you for making our stay as relaxing and no stress as possible
Very spacious, comfortable property in secluded location. Perfect place to relax, with large deck, hot tub, bbq, great for star gazing. Also good for Yosemite (about an hour’s drive). Would definitely come back if we are in the area again.
The Retreat was a nice weekend getaway for our group. The amenities like ping pong, hot tub, and board games let us all hang out and chill after a long day in Yosemite. ~15min from Mariposa to try the local shops and restaurants.
The host was really responsive and answered very timely.
Had a great time visiting Yosemite national Park and staying at this property! Super convenient and everything was exactly as advertised. Will definitely be coming back sometime!
It was pleasing to stay there. We had everything we needed, the Beds were comfortable, and the yoga mat and space in the living room were a plus.
Also, I had planned to bring a dog with us but we didn't if we had a dog I am sure he would have a great time too!!
The only negative was a little far from Yosemite.
That's all. Thanks to Peter for responding to our question quickly.
Peter’s Property is fab. It is close to Yosemite valley (45-60mins drive). House has lots of board games, spacious rooms & comfy bed. Outdoor Hot tub was so relaxing. Don’t need to go anywhere for stargazing you can see them from hot tub/ patio.
We enjoyed our stay at this clean and comfortable home. Thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs. We should have known that this time of year the outside would have lots of burrs and foxtails so we had to keep the dogs in. We will come again a different time of year.
This home was the perfect spot to utilize as a base for daily Yosemite visits. With a stunning drive into/out of the Valley, games, hot tub, open concept kitchen/living space, and plenty of well maintained outdoor space, this home has nearly everything you need for a group or family to relax, hang out, and come and go from.
We thought this was a very nice place! Our grouo had 2 adult couples and the layout worked very well for us. It was very clean! The views were beautiful! We didnt get to use the hot tub or corn hole boards as we just didnt take the time. We were staying there so we could visit Yosemite. It was about 50 mintues to the Arch Rock gate. We did eat in Mariposa twice and it was maybe 15 minutes to get into town. Overall, we really enjoyed this property and would go back! Thank you, Peter!!
It was really nice. There was a lot of information left in the cabin. All the rules where straight forward. The property was very clean. We enjoyed our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I booked this location to be close to Mariposa and Yosemite. It was the ideal place for us to have access to what we needed and be far enough outside the city lights to feel like we were in a wild area. The house and grounds are wonderful. Everything worked perfectly. Our favorite amenities were the large deck with ping pong table and the cornhole setup. The string of lights on a timer let us finish our game after dark! We unplugged the lights to achieve total darkness for viewing the Milky Way from the deck. So many stars! Highly recommend this rental.
The place was clean, comfortable and well-heated for the winter (we stayed over Christmas). The yard was huge and my dog enjoyed running around within the fenced area. The hot tub and table tennis table were also great amenities that my family enjoyed. Kitchen is well-stocked with kitchenware, dining ware and some spices. It is about an hour’s drive to Yosemite. I would stay here again.
Everything as described and nicely maintained. Great location for Yosemite.
About 45min to 1 hr to Arch Rock entrance. Lines there were never long. About 1:15 to Mariposa/South entrance with longer lines there.
Beds all good and kitchen well equipped. Used the nice grill a lot.
I booked this place for a trip with my adult daughter, son in law and 12 yo granddaughter. This property was WONDERFUL! It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for us. We were a little disappointed that the washer was broken, but we also understand, it had just happened and the owner told us he couldn’t get a repairman in until the day we had planned to leave. Things happen! That’s out of his control. It’s a beautiful property, very quiet and relaxing. The hot tub was hot and clean! Thanks for letting us book with you!
The stay was overall great! Communication with owner was standard, we didn’t run into any major issues during our trip. We weren’t there a ton during the day as we were at Yosemite most of the time. The only issue we ran into was the temperature. While away it was set to 85 F and it took hours for the temperature to go down even a few degrees. We’d go to bed in 77 F and once we left the eco mode would bring it back to 85F. My only suggestion is to let the guests set the temperature during their stay or decrease the eco mode temperature to below 80.
The property was very nice. A lot of natural lighting. The kitchen was nicely equipped however the knives could be sharpen a bit and maybe provide some Tupperware to store cooked food. Either than that everything else was good. The view from the backyard is beautiful dusk till dawn. The small grill, games, and tub were great! Especially being out there stargazing. Kids enjoyed it very much. Beds were comfortable and best of all that our small dog was able to join the family trip.
Thank you again Peter, we will definitely be coming back!

Meh….
We did not have the best experience at this property due to the cleanliness of the kitchen and the floors in the main living area.
Let me point out by saying the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Upon arrival at the house at 330, one window and small door were left opened. It was 112 outside, inside of the house was HOT at 89 degrees. The thermostat was set at 87. It took until the next day for the home to cool down to 76 degrees and there were no fans in any of the rooms.
We were going to Yosemite so we planned on cooking meals at the house. The kitchen not clean. The utensil door had a large greasy food spill in the silverware. We were only left one hand towel n the kitchen and had to use our bathroom wash clothes and towels. We were made aware that the washing machine was broken, but was being replaced during our stay. When we pointed out that we had no kitchen supplies to clean up after ourselves, Peter did give us supplies, but no attempt was made to clean the kitchen or floors. Peter actually saw the greasy mess in the kitchen drawer and his response was he would give the cleaners feedback. Third day we had ants on the kitchen floor by the pantry. The floors n the living area were so dirty that the bottoms of our feet were black on the first night. We did ask for a refund on the cleaning fee since the house was not clean. Peter didn’t feel that was necessary, he blamed it on the elements and rural location. Wish I could post pix of the ants and grease.
