"I stayed at Barefoot Contessa in mid-June 2025. I was holidaying as a solo traveller which I have only done a few times before and so was very anxious leading up to the trip. I needn’t have worried as I had an amazing week. The resort/village and apartments were both fantastic and the staff at Barefoot Contessa/Hemingways were always really friendly and helpful: Dimitra, Olga and Spiros and co. The apartment was really lovely and clean. Comfortable and nicely furnished. Good shower and bathroom. It has everything you would need including a small oven/grill and two rings - although I didn’t actually cook as there are a small number of good restaurants very near by including Hemingways bay-restaurant just a few seconds walk away. The apartment is literally a stone’s throw from a really beautiful beach - mainly sandy with crystal clear waters and backed by the most beautiful mountainous scenery. It is literally 2 mins walk from the apartment - possibly less! The village itself is beautiful and was not at all crowded. It suits anyone looking for a quiet, scenic and relaxing break from daily life. I would thoroughly recommend Barefoot Contessa. "

"Great time at Helena’s Studios, a brilliant base for touring Kefalonia by car. It’s a fairly rustic place but perfect for travellers on a budget, with a pool and self catering facilities if you need them. Only 10 minutes by car from the airport with a handful of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We wanted somewhere with a pool. There’s also a small bar and food takeaway and the staff are lovely and helpful."
