"We were dead set on staying in a machiya while in Kyoto, and Takeya Bekkan did not disappoint! It was absolutely beautiful, so relaxing, and Kazuya was a great host and easy to get in touch with. There were a few different bus stops very close to the machiya, and we were easily able to get everywhere we wanted to go. We would absolutely stay here again on a future visit to Kyoto."

"Great place to stay! Clean and just short walk to the train station to get anywhere. Only complaint was the bunk beds were quite firm and one of the washers was out of service so it was very difficult to get in to do laundry. Overall a great place to stay!"
