"Place is very outdated and looks and feels old with a distinct musty smell all around. The staff were great with special requests but not overly friendly. Wouldn’t want to stay for more than a single night for sure. "

"We stayed at the DoubleTree San Pedro for one night. The hotel looks beautiful in listings as it is adjacent to a very nice marina, but the property, while clean, is very run down. It looks like a hotel that was beautiful when built, but hasn’t had significant investments since then. It’s also not in a particularly nice area, which was not obvious in listings. The staff was nice, and Omar at the front desk was outstanding. We had a very large room that was comfortable and had a nice view of the marina, but the fixtures, fittings, and furniture were all very worn. The maids did a nice job keeping it clean, but things like lamps being unable to be turned on and dimmer switches missing their slider knobs were annoying. Worst of all was the temperature control; there is no wall thermostat but there are two utterly baffling remote controls for temperature that did little to nothing as far as we could tell. We stayed on a day that was cool outside (mid 60s) but had to open the windows to get the room cool enough to sleep. I’m genuinely unsure if the temperature remotes did anything, but they definitely require a tutorial as the numerous buttons had labels that were counterintuitive at best. We didn’t get to try the restaurant while we were there, but we did hear a manager saying the property was scheduled for remodeling soon, which is great news. Would I stay there again? Probably not; though the price was very reasonable; I might consider it only after a total remodel."

"Its s cheap place to stay before a cruise, the shuttle service is really good. The room was much less than expected. The bed was OK, but no where to sit besides the bed. There was a fridge but no microwave, the TV was quite old and the toilet was not functioning properly (had to fill the ice bucket with water and dump it in while flushing to get any kind of flush to work). Breakfast was very basic, the most minimal one I have experienced. Front desk staff was friendly. If your just looking for a cheap overnight before a cruise its probably the best one. Just don't have high expectations."

"The parking isn’t ample, you’re on a residential street and depending on which day you park, if you get a spot, you’ll get a parking ticket. The area isn’t very nice, the room was awful. It was small and dirty with no amenities. There was no water pressure so having a shower was arduous and you’re woken up every morning either by the manager screaming down the corridor at ‘Miguel’ or by the people in the houses either side screaming at each other. The corridors stink of weed, other patrons were super loud. It wasn’t at all as advertised. I stayed for two weeks (by accident) and they never changed my sheets or emptied my bins. Only good bits are that the staff are nice to the guests and the local town has some nice places to eat and drink. "
