"We needed somewhere to stay after finishing some medical treatment and Augill Castle was perfect for us. The service was personal and thoughtful and the food was delicious. The weather was good too, which helped, but is probably less predictable!"

"Lovely hotel. Will say before all else - the food was amazing! Breakfast was brilliant but we also ate in the restaurant the night of and this was delicious. Would drive 1.5hours to come back again! Otherwise the hotel seems to be a little hidden gem. Staff very welcoming to us (and 2 under twos - always a challenge). Very accommodating, great communication and friendly. Hotel itself situated nicely near local castle to explore and easy footpath walks behind the hotel into the hills/by a little stream. Room was spacious, clean with a few nice extra touches like hot choco etc which are always welcome. Would come back. "

"We stayed one night here with our pup and wished it could have been longer. It's a lovely property in a perfect location. The hosts have made it feel cosy and welcoming, with lots of lovely touches. "

"Great stay for two night break on the coast to Coast trail. Staff was friendly and helpful. Friday nights are very loud with karaoke so be prepared! Food was good, but basic pub food. Breakfast had several choices and the avocado and poached egg was especially good. There's an awesome Indian restaurant called the mango tree just a few buildings down. Laundromat behind the Black Bull hotel which was very convenient. About 6 pounds to run the washer and one or two for the dryer. There's a tourist info place in the same area also and they have taxi information if you want to bypass the boggy part of the hike from Kirkby Steven to Keld. No buses on Sunday. "

"Have a fabulous time. The shepods are amazing. Everything that you need is there. Gorgeous views, plus Leanne was so helpful. We had an afternoon tea there too and it was delicious. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you "
