"Breathtaking Location, Warm Staff – But Needs Improvement in Comfort and Value Jiva Baluam is set in a truly stunning location nestled in a secluded bay with a private beach that feels like your own paradise. The natural beauty is overwhelming, and the bungalows are located right on the sand. It’s a place where you can fully disconnect and enjoy nature. However, the resort is very remote – there are no alternative dining options within 30 minutes, so you’re fully dependent on the in-house restaurant. Unfortunately, the food quality doesn’t justify the high prices. The Indonesian breakfast (like Nasi Goreng) was okay, but the Western breakfast was quite disappointing in both taste and presentation. The resort has been around for over ten years and is beginning to show signs of age. Some renovations would definitely enhance the guest experience. The bungalows are charming, but not well-equipped: there’s no fridge, which is a real downside given the isolation, especially since cold drinks from the restaurant are very expensive. Also, there’s no kettle – as an early riser, I found it frustrating that I couldn’t have tea or coffee until the restaurant opened at 8 a.m. On the bright side, the staff are wonderfully kind and helpful, and the WiFi is excellent surprisingly strong for such a remote location. In summary, Jeeva Baluam offers a magical natural setting and warm hospitality, but it would benefit greatly from thoughtful upgrades and a more guest-friendly infrastruct,"

"I recently stayed at this resort and had a mixed experience. The service was great —the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, always friendly and eager to help. They also had a WhatsApp channel for guests to contact them and their response time was impressively quick, which made communication very convenient. The location is quite secluded, which offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for those looking to disconnect. However, the maintenance of the villa left much to be desired. The villa exterior is in need of a paint job, the villa felt a bit worn, and cleanliness could be improved—towels and bedsheets had visible spots and stains. Additionally, the water pressure was quite weak, and we experienced a temporary issue with hot water. Thankfully, the staff responded quickly and resolved it. Food quality was good, though the selection was somewhat limited. Internet connectivity was intermittent. Overall, while the staff and scenery made the stay enjoyable, the resort could benefit from better upkeep and improved amenities. With some maintenance improvements, it has the potential to be a fantastic getaway."

"Very Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend This hotel was by far the worst of the five we stayed at during our time in Bali. We booked a deluxe pool room, but instead of a nice pool view, we were stuck looking at an unused, dirty pool. While they did have another pool that was in better condition, it felt frustrating to have been placed in a room overlooking such an unappealing sight. There were multiple issues throughout our stay. Our check-in was delayed by 30 minutes, and the room quality was very basic, with a run-down bathroom that was far from acceptable. For a hotel with high reviews, the poor room and bathroom conditions were shocking. The service was equally disappointing. We ordered food and drinks, but the drinks were forgotten, and when I raised this, there was no follow-up. The assistant initially offered to waive our lunch bill as an apology for the issues, but later changed it to drinks only. At checkout, I was surprised to see that I was still being charged for the drinks, and it took them another 5 minutes to sort it out after I questioned the bill. To add to the confusion, I was told one price for a taxi to the airport, but when we checked out, the hotel charged me a lower price. I questioned this, and they insisted it was correct. However, during the ride to the airport, the driver received a phone call saying we had underpaid. This was very frustrating, especially since the confusion was entirely on the hotel's end. Overall, the service was poor"
