"Building work ongoing so views were quite interrupted, music from reception echoed in our room making it difficult to sleep"

"I enjoyed my 3 night visit. I found the staff pleasant and the hotel a nice ambience. My room was a little tired but everything I needed. I will stay again. Great value for money."

"Staff made our kids feel welcome and special. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Great pool facilities and cosy open fire in the entrance. Huge breakfast selection"

"Very helpful staff. Standard double room on the ground floor was clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Window frame needs replacing and it would be good if window could be opened in a more secure way (rather than with just a standard arm that could be opened from the outside)."

"Beautiful place, amazing history and the staff are friendly and welcoming"

"This place is incredibly interesting for anyone into cars and motorbikes. Loads of quirky pieces of automotive art. The people that work there are pretty cool too. The person that handled the check in was very enthusiastic about the Brand, and offered to help me with my bags to the room - that’s very rare. It’s quite lively in terms of music from just after 8am to 10pm. But yeah, pretty unique place."

"The staff were very helpful and it felt homely and very comfortable. The food was enjoyable too. For an old building it was kept in good condition, nicely decorated and showed the history through artwork and photos."

"The room I was assigned was on the outside, where workmen were updating rooms, so parking was crowded and noisy. This entrance was also used by deliveries, some arriving before 6am. I would have preferred to be advised of this renovation prior to booking as I would have chosen another hotel. The room itself was fine, and the staff were friendly enough."

"We stayed for two nights and had a pretty good stay. On arrival we were given a room that on the face of it seemed good. However when I check on the booking we had paid for a junior deluxe room and the photos showed a very much better room. We went back to the reception and after some checking were taken to the room we should have had, whet a difference! We got there in the end but were disappointed that we had to challenge to get the room we had actually booked. Otherwise nice stay but a little...

"On arrival, we didnt realise there was an older wing and a newer wing. We were in the older wing and the lifts do not go up to the 2nd floor in the older part of the hotel where our room was located and so we had to carry our luggage upstairs to our rooms. The walk was very higgly piggly and I did some damage to my back carrying the suitcases upstairs. As a senior, it would have been nice if help was provided with our luggage. When we checked out we asked for someone to take our luggage...

"Tired and well past its best"

"Had a fantastic stay staff was so helpful my grandkids loved are stay"

"Friendly staff. Charming and characterful old coaching inn with the expected quirks. Good atmosphere in the bar and restaurant areas. Good evening meal and breakfast. Parking available outside or across from the hotel."
