"Room was spacious and classically furnished. Some of the furniture, drapery, and lobby finishes were a bit worn, but to be expected in an older, historic hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating and spoke English which made check-in and out easier. I would stay at this hotel again. "

"Good location at the end of the Bunds. River view is great if room is in the mid or right section of the building facing towards the city night lights. Staff understand some English. Walk to the Yuyang old street and Yu garden is about 20mins. "

"Satisfactory overall. Good service and comfortable stay. Restaurants around. Convenient.Bus stop in front of hotel but subway station is far away, need to a bus to a station. We are happy with the stay and shall come back again, "

"The hotel staff need to be more aware when the guest is coming at late flight so there is no misunderstanding in reservation, otherwise what i liked that even with language barrier it got resolved in minutes. "

Then had to pay an additional $100 to get to the Hongqiao airport after not having a room. DO NOT STAY HERE! Not only was that horrible enough it is a shady set up."
