"The house was nice and the owner was great to deal with, she provided a lot of local knowledge on things to do. I will say that it is on a surprisingly busy road. But the horses were great and the family loved to give them apple slices and carrots. Overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for something like this. Also it’s not too far from Bar Harbor and Arcadia."

"This cabin is so cozy, comfy, and totally relaxing and private. It was a chilly night and Dick, the property owner, had fired up the wood stove for us so it was perfectly warm when we arrived. Beds were very comfortable, we slept so well, and the cabin has everything you could need. The kitchen was great, the whole place is very charming. We loved cozying up you watching old video tapes from the 90s in the living room upstairs! My husband and I especially enjoyed the peaceful and expansive view...

"The Wonky Donkey is a great place to stay! My kids and I felt at home from the moment we arrived. It’s obvious a great deal of thought went into making this a comfortable and charming home. Liz and Scott are excellent hosts. They made us feel welcome, introduced us to their animals, and offered great recommendations on everything from where to get lobster to fun activities in the area. I highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again. "

"My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice spot for our stay while hiking Acadia and visiting other parts of Maine. We wanted somewhere both somewhat secluded and nearby other towns for day trips, and this house fit the bill perfectly! Views were outstanding, house had everything we needed for our stay, and Michelle was communicative and so helpful with our questions. 10 out of 10 would recommend!"

"The view of the lake as the sun rises is stunning. We absolutely loved our stay at the lake house. It is so quiet and peaceful. The listing is very accurate and Stephen the manager is great to work with and if you have any questions he gets back to you very quickly. We spent a week exploring Maine and used this as our home base and it was as beautiful as everything else in the state."
