Relaxing quiet & scenic

A beautiful farm cottage with history. I'd forgotten had read that was no TV, so was a shock initially but since were either out hoping to see the Aurora or tired frm busy day this really wasn't an issue.

Amazing Farm house

Loved the view, comfortable beds, hosts friendly, extra room for the kids to play. The bathroom is a little separated from the bedrooms and relatively small. But not an issue. Enjoyed our stay!

The perfect country get-away

Karl and Melanie care about their guests’ experience. This comes through in the well presented the accomodation and them going above and beyond. The kids loved feeding the chickens, especially Kevin the rooster !

Tranquil beauty

Melanie and Karl’s house is very comfortable with beautiful views over the green countryside and Catlins Lake. It was so tranquil. Loved watching the cattle, horse, chickens and sheep go about their daily routines - not much happens, but a lot of socialising

So much room with a fabulous view.

We stayed four nights in this older farm house. There’s so much room, a nice big kitchen and the view and fresh air were wonderful. The beds had lovely linen but were softer than our liking. The single bathroom was on the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms. Other furnishings are a bit tired and shabby, but we were not really at the house very much because there is so much to explore in the area. We also appreciated Melanie letting us stay one night up the hill at her studio as I didn’t book the five nights I thought I booked; she was really gracious about that situation.

Peaceful farm setting

We loved waking up with the sounds of the birds and the misty Catlins lake nearby. The renovated farmhouse is very well set up, stylish and comfy with everything we needed. Mel and Karl are friendly and welcoming. We LOVED Karl taking us around the stock and showing us their farm which has breathtaking coastal views.

Wonderful relaxing Easter Escape

Wonderfully positioned and beautifully set up place. A bit of something for everyone. Very spacious, with added benefits, hens, views, log burner. Definitely recommend .

Serene and delightful

We loved staying here. It is such a lovely escape from a busy life, and Melanie was so welcoming. The playroom was such a hit with our wee ones, and such a nice surprise (not on the listing, so we bought all our toys with us!). We can't wait to come back again.

Beautiful farm house

The cottage is beautiful! Amazing views, lovely cosy house with a well equipped kitchen. Beds were super comfortable. Melanie and Karl were lovely and the view from the top of the farm when Melanie took me up was just spectacular! I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back.

Loved being on the farm, with sheep being mustered right outside the window, dogs, chickens, fresh eggs for breakfast. The ride in the Hilux up over the back of the farm with Karl was a great touch.Like being on ‘Country Calendar’ with Barry Crump. Superb kiwi experience. The farm house was lovely too. Sitting on the wraparound deck with a coffee and watching life go by. Exceptional

Fantastic time

This property is located on a farm and is amazingly quiet and beautifully picturesque. The house itself is well appointed, comfortable, and feels very welcoming. We had such a wonderful time here relaxing!! It is in very close proximity to many of the wonderful attractions that the Caitlins offers. We would unequivocally recommend staying here…we would love to come back and relax for a week (or two!)…The view from the deck is so tranquil and the whole stay just was just so lovely. Totally perfect.
