"We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location is just a few minutes away from the bus station. About a 15 minute walk to Sanmachi area. They provided yukatas for us to wear. The bath was nice and relaxing. We enjoyed our Japanese traditional breakfast. The staff were excellent and attentive. We would recommend staying here if visiting Takayama! "

The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."

"Came here with my husband and mother. A little sad that there was no view surrounding this ryokan. Unlike the ones I stayed in while I was in Hakone and Sapporo. This inn is small and has limited facilities (but it is enough.) Room was spacious and the futon was very comfortable to sleep in, staffs helped prepare the futons for us to rest efficiently. Shared bathroom was OK, no issues with queuing for the shower or toilet. There was a separate toilet for male/female. No outdoor shoes throughout the property, but slippers are provided. "Guest House Ouka is amazing!! The rooms and common area are very comfortable. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. They have tons of food and entertainment recommendations on the walls so I didn't have any worries about how to spend my time in Takayama. Lastly, they had unlimited free tea in the kitchen."
