"We booked two nights here but one night would have been sufficient. As many other reviewers have pointed out, the views are fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was dated and the entire resort has seen better days. Dinner was a mixed bag; the salmon main was delicious but the pork belly was all fat and the vegetables overcooked. We ate out on our second night. We had breakfast included and it was mediocre at best. The pastries were stale and the continental selections were limited. Our cooked items were pretty tasty and we left feeling like we’d had plenty to eat. We wouldn’t recommend staying here when there are plenty of other accommodation options throughout the Waitakere area to choose from."

"It is right off a busy road so you have to be extra careful when entering and exiting with your car. Initially, I didn't know where to check-in as there were no clear signs on which was the front door. Host was not present, and a delegate showed me around. The delegate did not inform that the fence to the ground floor (where my room was) would be locked after hours. I was locked out as the host did not reply me until the next morning. Thankfully a fellow guest staying upstairs helped me bypass the fence lock. Even though I did gain access to my room, security of the compounds is a clear issue. I opted for the standard cabin, which turned out to be a container shed at the ground floor. The container is inches away from the main road and I could hear cars and passersby shouting so for those who are noise-sensitive this may not be the place for you. The house rules stated that no toilet paper would be provided, but thankfully there was toilet paper when I used the bathroom. And note this premise is not luggage/ wheelchair friendly as you need to take the stairs to access the communal kitchen and bathroom. There was nowhere else I could get at this price point so I wouldn't say this was a bad stay."

"Short walk to Mount Albert train station, via right of way, and two of bus routes. Shops at Mount Albert are not great, there is however a fantastic vegetarian Chinese supermarket. The Pack and Save supermarket is fifteen minutes walk if you are buying in bulk. The neighbourhood is not very interesting, there are a number of small parks within a few minutes walk. The flat is weird. Furnished with broken mirrors on the bed-side tables, cheep furniture, horrible nicknacks and ugly posters. Could do with a deep clean - there were dust bunnies behind the car-seat sofa. Don’t forget to bring your own cleaning cloths."
