"The pub/hotel itself has walls of awards for food, so you can be sure of a good meal. The room itself was (I guess) a converted stable at rear of the building. Charming little room with a shower room upstairs. Very comfortable and great for what we wanted, a short break for a couple with dog. Hathersage is only 3/4 mile along the road with pavement, or alternative footpath across fields. We did the 6 mile Jane Eyre walk from the village up onto Stanage Edge."

"This was hands down the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and cheery. They made us feel at home and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The wait staff was exceptional as well. The food was excellent, the setting idyllic, and location walkable to The Chatsworth House! We could not wait to write a glowing review as we cannot recommend this hotel enough! We suggest you give your entire staff a raise as they were top notch and whoever hired them...

"Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome."

"Lovely room, helpful staff and super breakfast. Easy parking too. Only minor gripe was that the window didn't stay open and we had to prop it open with a toilet roll. The was a bit of an issue as the weather was unseasonable warm and there is no AC in the room. However, the staff did say this was already noted and action was being taken. This was our second stay at the hotel and we would certainly visit again."

"Excellent place to stay when visiting the high peak area. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Only a small point to consider. Check the parking area if you have a large car as the parking is a little tight"
