"The only problem was parking as the hotel car park was closed as they are refurbishing. There is a big multi-storey car park next door but difficult to find the entrance. Otherwise good place for an overnight stay. Staff are friendly, rooms nice and lovely breakfast."

"I have stayed at this hotel a number of times, it offers itself to be a comfortable hotel for affordable prices. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. However the general maintenance of the room was poor, (cracks and dents in the wall). Also there was an issue with the plumbing, either an air bubble or too much pressure as the taps would groan and open every 10 minutes or so between 9pm and 11pm."

"Our welcome at reception was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean but basic. The shower was nice and strong but there was no handrail to get in and out and it was quite slippery. There was not a rubber mat either. Breakfast was really good, I should have had for the small breakfast as the normal English breakfast was huge. The weather was lovely so we were able to sit outside which was nice. We were going to a wedding at Down Hall Spa and the Hunters Meet is only a 3 minute drive away so really handy. Lovely walks nearby. Only negative thing I can say is that the whole hotel is a bit tired looking and a bit dated and could do with some money being spent on it, otherwise a good base. Lots of parking too."

"A gem. An old YHA hostel and run by the same guy for over thirty years. If you want modern, hi tech, all singing all dancing then go to one of the big chains. If you want quirky, no frills, basic and a classic old hostel experience th3n this place has to be for you. I will certainly return."
