"We were welcomed by the staff and shown to our room, which was spacious, clean, warm and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality pillows. The shower room was large, clean and modern. It was so reasonably priced, we expected a lot less!"

"Très bel hôtel très propre . Personnel à l’écoute."

"Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers"

"Una calda accoglienza nelle brughiere del Dartmoor. La struttura è comoda, sulla strada. La camera ha tutto ciò che serve ed è molto calda ed accogliente. Il personale alla reception super gentile. La colazione a buffet ricca, la cena potrebbe migliorare."

"The food was fabulous and a great surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would have given it 5 stars but there was a distinct smell of fish on entering the hallway and the bar was only open when the evening meal service started. There was no chance for a drink when you came back from a long walk. Maybe it was because the hotel was not fully booked."

"There is a lot that is exceptionally good about the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful , the food and drinks of high standard and the spa area very good. The only slight downsides were poor WiFi although this seems to affect the whole village when we visited. We’d love to come back."

"This was one of the best stays that I’ve experienced in a while. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly upon arrival and were happy to answer any questions. I was traveling alone with two children and the staff were intuitive and accommodating. The food was phenomenal and the breakfast the next morning was really good as well."

"Everything we would expect from a hotel of this type. Clean, helpful staff, excellent dinner and breakfast, good beer, easy to park, windows that opened to let in freash air. Just great. Kedgeree for breakfast a particular delight. One slightly wobbly tap, that was it"

"A perfect place for exploring Plymouth. Very friendly service, clean rooms."

"Great stay, friendly staff & delicious breakfast"
