"Nice hotel right off Crescent Ave, which is the main road coming into Avalon from the ferry. Our room had a balcony which was nice to open up to the ocean breezes. It was nice to be within walking distance of everything. The staff were nice and helpful. The place underwent a renovation a few years ago so the place is still in pretty decent condition. Modern shower and vanity. Cutesy island-ish room. I don't know why people are raving about the breakfast, but it's just a little more than basic continental. The Catalina Coffee & Cookie company right outside the hotel is really good though. Great cold brew and breakfast sandwiches/burritos. Get there early, though, because there is always a line after 10AM."

"We chose the Aurora to celebrate our anniversary on Catalina Island. The staff was amazing and incredibly helpful. We loved their rooftop lounge, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was pretty good considering it was included. It’s an older hotel that has been updated over the years so there are some quirks that come with older bones. Only 2 issues I had were me being too impatient to wait for the water to heat up for my shower, and the WiFi was spotty. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back!"

"This is my go to for respite when visiting Avalon and Catalina. The rooms are cozy and clean. However, if are traveling with heavy luggage or have mobility issues I recommend other accommodations. The property contains no elevators or ADA specifications. No continental breakfast but there are propane grills throughout the property. Close to main attractions and local Vons."
