"Aethos Skyline Room – 3-night stay Aesthetically impressive, but operationally disappointing. The hotel excels at design, boutique ambiance, and thoughtful in-room amenities (wooden hairbrush, three-ply tissues, cushioned slippers, etc.), but falls short on basic service execution—enough to make me reconsider rebooking. Positives: Beautifully considered design, quality amenities, generally warm staff, and an excellent breakfast with attentive service. Disappointments: No assistance with our five pieces of luggage upon arrival, three calls required to obtain an extra sheet, an unreplaced bedside lamp bulb, and neither of our scheduled wake-up calls came through. We were also interrupted nightly to ask about turndown service. There was also confusion over our Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts breakfast benefit. We were initially told only one breakfast was included, and this was confirmed by the front desk, prompting my husband to eat elsewhere. The strangest interaction involved a request for a sewing kit. Housekeeping brought a shaving kit instead, repeatedly insisting I “just trust her” despite my explaining the mix-up. She eventually opened the box herself, realized the mistake, and returned with the correct kit. Individually, these may seem like minor inconveniences, but collectively they reflect inconsistent communication, follow-through, and service execution. "Great place for a solo traveler. Love the storage and automation. Only note is the iPad in the room was not reliable and even though i asked for room service they never came. Otherwise, I’d stay here again. Super comfy big bed in a central location close to the tube."

"Lovely hotel, staff were helpful bar was very cool and it’s well located. Unfortunately rooftop pool wasn’t heated and that had been one of the attractions for us. Was also a lot of street noise Friday night into Saturday morning which lead to us having a very disturbed sleep despite silicon ear plugs. Would I stay again? If I wasn’t staying at a weekend then yes"

"This was our first stay at The Hoxton, Shoreditch, and we would definitely come back again. Despite being called the "Cozy Double," the room was actually quite spacious (we've stayed in much smaller rooms!) and was beautifully decorated and clean. The bed was a great size; we also really appreciated the proper cups and tea/coffee making facilities. If I had any suggestions (they're very minor), I'd say it'd be really great to have somewhere with a little bit of storage - e.g. bedside tables with drawers rather than little tables, so you can put your stuff somewhere, and also the pillows weren't very comfortable (when you laid on them, they kind of disappeared), but otherwise, everything was excellent!"

"The location was a main reason this hotel is solid. Very close proximity to pubs, restaurants, etc. The room is very small for 2 two people. With our standard luggage it felt very tight. Shower pressure was great, and good temperature. The only real issue was the pillows smelled like sweat and dirty water… which made it gross to sleep in. Wash those pillows."
