"Basic property, has not been refurbed in years. Over priced for what it was. Constant mosquitos everywhere in the apartment which was bad. We literally barracked ourself in one room. All the taps etc were rusted and green. Area outside is full of locals who didn’t not even know what halal food was! Plenty of supermarkets around though. Beach and bars are all deserted. "

"Felt so lucky to find Valley View Lodge! If you’re looking for a place away from the tourist areas with quaint small village charm, this is it. Not much happening in the village but a walk around gives a feel for the quiet life away from the coast. Eat at the Golden Cage for dinner, the only restaurant in the old part of town. Good food and eclectically decorated. The lodge was comfortable, with a lovey balcony for lounging. It is just as pictured. The stairs are a little tricky but easily...

"Nice property perfect for 2 people to be comfortable, more would be a little cramped. Good central location for exploring Crete. Beach just down the road several shops and restaurants in walking distance. But I strongly recommend a rental car to make the most of Crete. The owners are lovely people, nothing but polite and welcoming."

"My wife and I stayed in the apartment for one week in October and it was a perfect base for us to explore the island, we had a car. The host was excellent and communication could not be faulted and we totally enjoyed our stay."
