"The building is wonderful as are the grounds very traditional. food is great and has a very nice 24hr Bar But what makes this place amazing is the staff very friendly and will bend over backwards to make sure you’re ok. Michelle at reception went above and beyond she was absolutely amazing and made sure our difficult requests were catered for"

"My family and I recently visited the Old Millhouse in June. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay here. The host Sally couldn’t have been more helpful in planning our stay and was always accessible to help us in anyway she could. Wilbur our driver for the week was always reliable and quite the character. Sally put together various outings for us, to North Bewick, Hawicke and a day at St. Andrew’s with her tour guide Darren who was great. We did two dinners in with meals prepared by chef Jesse and they were both delicious. The home itself is rich in history and lovingly decorated from Sally’s numerous travels. The property is so serene you never want to leave. In all a dream property for a perfect Scottish getaway….we hope to be back!"

"We live in Edinburgh but had to book somewhere to stay while we were having work done at our house and Sycamore Cottage was perfect for four of us. The bedrooms are really spacious and the kitchen is really well equipped which isn’t always the case in self catering accommodation. We didn’t think we’d need to use the log burner but a typical Scottish spring meant we used it a few nights and there was plenty of logs left for it. Easy to drive into Edinburgh or can get the train from Gorebridge. Overall, a lovely cosy house!"
