"Great location - lovely village! lots of little shops, places to walk to and things to see. The rooms were a little hot but there was a fan. The TV was so basic it had no streaming services or anything."

"Although there was building work taking place in the grounds of the hotel there was no disruption to the service or cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were so helpful when I had an issue with my car and got insisted for me. Thus was the first solo holiday for my after the sad passing of my sister, so it was a big challenge for me to go it alone but the staff didn’t make me feel the odd one out amongst couples and groups, in fact the made me feel so welcome. The food is absolutely wonderful, even with the new menu change over mid week, the food was tasty and it was hot I don’t mean just hot enough that you could eat it straight away but hot and every mouth full was delicious. I can’t say enough about the hotel the staff and the restaurant it was absolutely brilliant. I do intend visiting again in the hear future A big thank you and well done to each and every member of the team working there x"

"The bedroom was very nicely fitted out apart from the sink hot tap not working due to the retaining nut being adrift. The communal areas need some maintenance as carpets/ chairs were thread bare and areas dirty not helped by the fact it is so dark in many areas of the bar. Very quaint and rustic but this doesn't mean it should be dirty"

"A really warm welcome from staff for us and our dog. Small but comfortable room with loads of things for our dog too. Lovely breakfast brought to the door each morning. Only problem we had was struggling with the front door lock each morning when letting the dog out, it was a worry if there was a fire as it took a couple of minutes until we could get out"

"Right on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales sets an idyllic location for this friendly pub/ hotel. Very friendly welcome with exceptional hospitality. The room was clean and of a good size, a very comfortable stay and the staff could not be more helpful. This property is also very pet friendly. Highly recommended "
