"Located in downtown wellsboro within walking distance to shoppes and restaurants, this hotel is a throwback in a good way. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The lobby and rooms were clean and functional with modern amenities, but had the feel of another era, giving me a taste of what life might have been like in another time. Breakfast was good also, my kids loved the chocolate raspberry muffins."

"I loved the beautiful cabin with two full bedrooms with closets and a full equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom and living room and dining room table. Looks newly renovated. They thought of everything to make guests happy. The welcome center looked new with beautiful open layout with new pool table , fishing poles , different games and activities. I Also loved the porch overlooking the creek and mountains! Absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained. I will definitely be back for another getaway. It’s absolutely gorgeous out there!"

"We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Black Bear. The cabin was everything we needed and super comfortable. The hot tub, the view from the back porch, the quiet was spectacular, especially the nature's light show in the trees by the creek at night. It was magical. Hope to get to stay again. "A nice, clean cabin in a great location! Mazzie was super helpful and great at replying quickly to messages. Even gave me a call to direct me to the place when my GPS led me astray. Nice stream runs right beside the cabin. Enjoyed seeing fish and crayfish in the stream. Due to recent rains the water was too deep for my little ones to get in, but it would be nice to play in otherwise. Very conveniently located just down the road from the Lyman Run State Park which has a nice little beach area for kids to play in sand and swim. Cabin is well stocked with essentials. Mazzie provides easy-to-follow guides to the cabin and local area which she sends to you electronically and then also has printed out and available in the cabin. I didn't realize from the photos that the bunk beds do not have guard rails, so we didn't use those beds; we had enough space for our small family with just the two queen beds. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Potter County. "
