This is our go to location for a quick weekend getaway or as a stop on longer travel trips. The location is safe and very walkable. If you stay for a day or so then there is lots of history in the area.

Great location and amazing staff at the desk. Ill request a room with a view of the street next time! Fun bars and restaurants on property or right next door as well.

The Strickland is the hotel is awful.. The rooms are terrible - a bed and one chair a tiny table under the tv - 2 small end tables. The cost was outrageous considering the room and the total lack of services. Parking is awful. The Hampton Inn has better service for half the price. Expedia will never post this review.

We were disappointed with several things about our room. A/C was not cooling well, dim lighting above bathroom sinks, no Smart TV (cable channels only), our window view of dumpsters and utility lines was a disappointment, too. We were able to park on the street just outside the entrance, however we were approached by a homeless beggar on two occasions. Positive feedback would be the comfortable bed, convenient to walk to restaurants, and friendly staff. We wouldn’t stay again.
