"Outside in some parts was very mucky. Parts off dining area could have done with some flowers, look overgrown with weeds Also in some parts facia border could do with some painting "

"Son booked his room as he's staff from another Marriott, his Superior room was clean and everything was as expected. Just one small minor issue a couple of loose boards on the balcony - didnt distract the view of the Racecourse. My daughter & i got a free unexpected upgrade to a family room which was huge for just the two of us. Breakfast was fitting for a Marriot, son won't comment as he's a chef, service and staff were excellent. The only thing i didnt like and the Marriott cant do too much about is that the pool area is right at the front of the hotel, you have to walk past to get to car park at the side. Wandering around the grounds we walked the Apple orchard- so many apples wasted, didnt see advertised a Tennis court, which had we known, we would have used. A great 3 night stay - enjoyed by all."

"Friendliest front desk and wait staff. Nice breakfast. Full breakfast with menu options plus buffet. Buffet only was a bit limited, but had good fruit. Room cleaning staff did fantastic job, just a bit over eager in the mornings, knocking on your door every 5-10 minutes!"

"Great hotel. Our room was river view with lovely view of the Minster too. Breakfast loads of choice. Baggage store if needed. Central location. Easy walk to station and all city attractions."

"Absolutely could not fault the staff. The room was clean and we enjoyed being close to York St John University and the shopping hub of the city centre. The food was okay although at breakfast there was sometimes bits missing or run out- no hot water for tea, run out of sausages, etc…. The staff were very attentive and the little texts to check in on us during our stay were lovely. "
