"We had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the harbour. Everything about the room was perfect and it was excellent value for money. The bed was comfortable and it was exciting to wake up with such amazing views. Our first visit to Mersea. The draw was the possibility of fresh seafood and we found that at the Seafood at Dawn restaurant just over the road. The hotel was fairly quiet during our stay but we imagine it must be difficult to get a room there during the summer season. We enjoyed the walks along the Coast Road, excellent cafes and seafood outlets. Out of season Mersea is very quiet and relaxing! Plenty of fresh air. Highly recommended."

"We had a lovely short break in this charming cottage. The location is one of the best on the island, down a very quiet track with views out to the estuary and a short walk down to the harbour. Cottage was well equipped and has been renovated to a high spec. Steps upstairs are steep, reflecting how old the property is, so won’t suit anyone with mobility issues, but fine for us - just added to the character of the property. Would love to return!"

"Pretty cottage, in a beautiful sunny garden. We loved eating on the terrace under the wisteria. It's an old cottage with low doors, so don't forget to duck if you're tall! The stairs are very narrow, not suitable for someone with mobility issues. Only one street back from the beach and a short walk to the shops and pubs. West Mersea is very picturesque!"
