"We loved staying at Belmar and highly recommend the breakfast buffet. Even though our unit had a kitchen, it was nice to eat at the buffet and we had beautiful views of the beach in the distance. The Belmar is a beautiful resort with several outdoor pools that are not heated and a heated indoor pool and hot tub. We were there at beginning of April and were able to swim in the cold outdoor pools but we were the only ones who could tolerate the cold. We swam in the indoor pool also which was nice. And we used the hot tubs which were nice but not crazy hot. I would guess 90 degrees. The hot tub is indoors and for adults and kids 16 years and older. No younger kids allowed. Our kids were old enough so it worked out well for us because the hot tub wasn't busy. Early April is a shoulder season so the resort was busy but the surrounding areas were quieter and the ocean was cold but people including my kids still swam in the ocean. There is a 5 minute walk down to the beach from the resort. The beach is a public beach with parking so others can drive there. I prefer it that way. And there were no chairs by the beach, not even ones you could rent. But maybe that's because it was not summer yet. We loved Lagos and parking was relatively easy but might be busier in the summer. April is a great time for hiking and we did two of the cliffside hikes and loved them."

"This property was nice. Needs a significant facelift. Property was clean, but out dated. Breakfast buffet was great, as was Italian restaurant. Gym needs complete redo, pools need cosmetic update. Good location and close to downtown and incredible hike. "

"Room clean just very outdated, was given 4 keys to unlock doors, one for front entrance door, if arriving back to hotel and nobody's there, an old style skeleton key for room door, another key for patiodoor, and a key for safe, was interesting to say the least. Staff are very friendly speak English and make you feel welcomed, also will give you help on where to go and how to get there. Area a little far from anything within a normal walking distance. Having a vehicle is definitely recommended even to just get to beach. Was very quiet my 5 day stay. But definitely wouldn't want to stay in that area again, as it gets very boring. 15 minutes car ride to busier parts. Had mini fridge and air-conditioned/ heat, room was very large. Parking was easily available. Also easy to get to room fast. "

"We had a lovely 2 week holiday at Villa Beatriz. The villa is clean and spacious with all accommodation on one level leading out to the large sunny terrace where we spent much of our time. The area is quiet and close to countryside inhabited by many Algarve bird species which we were able to watch from the terrace - as nature lovers, this was a great bonus. The short walk down to the beach is enjoyable, we easily found taxis on the occasions we did not fancy the walk back up the hill. The only comments we would make on improvements would be that a table and chairs next to the pool would be nice to make it easier to spend time there, and the shower in the ensuite would benefit from some attention. But these were minor points and overall we really enjoyed our stay."

"The place was beautiful and the owners were beyond accommodating. We had so much fun relaxing at the pool and going to the beach in the morning. It’s a little outside of Lagos but definitely worth the stay"
