"We had an excellent stay but we were let down by Expedia and I wouldn’t use Expedia again. I booked 3 rooms for 3 nights six months ago at £300 per room per night. The rooms came down in price by 50% a few weeks before our stay. Despite Expedia’s chat help telling me they would refund me the difference through their best price guarantee when customer services emailed me they said this was no longer available. So it cost me an extra £1000 booking in advance using Expedia, next time I will book a few weeks before directly with the hotel."

"The bed was rock hard, could not sleep at all, if you moved so did the bed, it was like sleeping on the floor, the room needed painted, we stayed for 2 nights, we picked this hotel due to reports of it being paranormal, we stayed 2 nights on 3rd floor that is supposed to be extremely paranormal, a load of rubbish, it's a con, not one thing happened, definitely won't be staying here again."

"Have stayed at the hotel a number of times now, always friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and this stay was no different. Only downside was having to navigate the haze of cigarette smoke right outside the front door to the hotel - less than ideal - but maybe that's more on the clientele than the hotel itself. Spacious & clean rooms, decent breakfast (if a little overpriced) - we didn't have option to not have breakfast on Saturday due to our itinerary, but went elsewhere Sunday. Good selection of beers & spirits available at the bar too."

"Door staff was rude: We had a night booked in Liverpool with friends. Around 12:30am they ordered an Uber and waited outside our hotel. Our friend needed to use the toilet, and the door staff refused entry because she didn't have a key "and was not a customer". They eventually left in the taxi, only for the same door staff to let 2 young lads in to use the toilets in the lobby. When we asked, he said it's because we tried to sneak them into our room, even though it was only her and her husband stayed outside.?! Just a weird interaction."
