A short walk from the Burn O'Vat car park you reach the end of the man made track and have to navigate the stepping stones through the natural doorway and into "the Vat". An impressive geological pothole with a beautiful waterfall.

Dinnet Loch. Small loch, unnamed on the O.S. map. Patch of water lilies and some water crowsfoot.
River Dee below Dinnet Bridge It is mid morning and overnight snow has already melted on the north bank but remains in the shade of the trees on the south bank. The huts are for use by those who are fishing on the river. There was no one on the banks as, in Scotland, fishing is not allowed on Sundays for salmon and other migratory fish.
River Dee at Dinnet A light fall of snow overnight is melting quickly as the sun rises higher in the sky. There are a short series of rapids on the river before it flows under the road bridge at Dinnet.
