"We've stayed in many self catering cottages and had a very different experience in this one. On VRBO the gite is advertised as having a lake view, its no where near a lake! After we'd paid for the gite the owner contacted us for €300 cash deposit, and told us about additional electricity charges per day. There was no mention of this on VRBO, so the owner waived the charge. We arrived at 4pm on a Sunday and immediately had to find a supermarket as no basics/welcome pack was provided e.g bread,...

"Just wanted somewhere we could use as a base to explore local villages and Carcassonne. We immediately felt very welcome and comfortable. Danielle was a very helpful host when we needed anything yet we were left to enjoy the tranquility of the outside areas when we were relaxing. The village had a superb art exhibition that we never dreamed would be possible in a relatively isolated locality. Petit point ce pendant à améliorer ,des portes manteau dans la salle de bain seraient les bienvenus et la cour extérieur aurait mérité un bon coup de débroussaillage .Pas non plus de séchoir à linge portable dans la maison.
