"Amazing Victorian building situated in a great location only a 15 min walk into Keswick.Onsite free parking so no need to move your vehicle for the duration of your stay if you are there for the walks. Public transport passes also if needed. The rooms are clean, Bedroom has Tea/Coffee/ Biscuits. Bathroom we stayed in had bath, shower and products to use. Such lovely touches in this property, cosy lounge area’s to sit in with games, chess etc. One lounge area had an expresso machine , Water and fresh pieces of cake for anyone to help themselves too. Great breakfast for you to choose. The most friendly staff we have come across a perfect family business We have stayed in many places in the Lake District but this was by far the best.They deserve there five star reviews, We will return.."

"We booked for the location and parking and were very happy with both. Access to Booths, buses and Keswick centre all excellent. The cottage was well equipped throughout and kitchen and bathroom good. The pottery and cutlery required up, (2) to dish was most days. No special cooking facilities eg blender. Had to ask what the coffee maker make was - nothing on line or in the house manual -there isn’t one. It was Tassimo! We had to wait to a while to download (O2 poor as usual) the manual to find the wifi password. We forgot to download the manual. Most we have stayed in have a card 6” x 4” in a pic frame. The on line facility was very good but lacked some fine details. Now the bad bits. The lounge sofas were very poor and well past their use date (esp in this price bracket). We paid for the singles to be put into super king mode (paying was a first). The beds were awful too hard lumpy and prevented a comfortable nights sleep (again not what I expect in this price bracket). These two failures meant it was not comfortable to sit in the cottage or sleep in it, so we left two days early. The bathroom had a smart light up mirror but very little space to store bathroom essentials and was also missing a shaver point. Lastly the tv was a smart tv but so old (2016 model) that it was from the Samsung hates Apple era so no mirroring from my iPhone. Luckily there was working iPlayer and Netflix so bring a FireTV stick! We enjoyed our stay in Keswick - the cafes, shops lake and no worries about parking."

"The Potter suite that I was staying in had the most beautiful view on the lake and the mountains. My comfortable room was being cleaned every day. I can also recommend the bathtub in which I took very relaxing baths. The staff is friendly and accommodated to all of our needs and were overall just very helpful. Taking morning walks to the lake is also something that I enjoyed doing a lot. The hotel truly has a magical garden. I will definitely come back to the Derwentwater Hotel when I visit the Lake District again. "

Modern with plenty of storage space for food etc.huge fridge freezer. Washer and dishwasher. Very comfortable bed. All in a private and quiet location with booths a stones throw away. All shielded by trees so very quiet. Nice view of river from sitting room window. The perfect spot for a stay in Keswick"
