"This was an ‘extra’ overnight stay on our way to a golf tournament at another venue. The receptionist, Charley, was very polite and helpful and apologised for the fact that Hotels.com had not mentioned in my booking that car taking needed to be paid for separately…the only ‘fault’ we could find was that the breakfast only catered for scrambled eggs - no fried or poached options! :-("

"It was my first stay at The Chudleigh, the outside of the building is beautiful, inside, the areas are clean and tidy, the owner and all the staff are very welcoming, extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with a very comfy bed, nice furniture and the hotel provided lovely little extras. The breakfast room was lovely and the food absolutely delicious. We had a great stay thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, I would highly recommend the hotel to anybody, we will be returning, I would give it six stars out of five if I could"

"Service was excellent from check in to check out. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Room was modern, clean and very comfortable. Fantastic facilities to cater for the whole family! Our breakfast was delicious and staff were kind to prepare a special dietary meal for my husband. Will definitely visit The Essex again."
